Inter Rhône

Interprofession of Côtes du Rhône and Rhône Valley  AOC wines.

About us

Dynamic and committed, Inter Rhône brings together professionals in the winegrowing and trade sectors of the Rhône Valley. It coordinates promotional, economic and technical actions for the region's AOC wines: Côtes du Rhône (regional, villages or Crus), Costières de Nîmes, Clairette de Bellegarde, Luberon, Ventoux, Grignan les Adhémar, Côtes du Vivarais, Duché d'Uzès, Château-Grillet, Crémant de Die, Clairette de Die, Chatillon en Diois, Coteaux de Die, Muscat de Beaumes de Venise and Rasteau natural sweet wines and Côtes du Rhône wine eaux-de-vie (or Fine des Côtes du Rhône).

The interprofession acts according to three fundamental principles: the representativeness of professional families, equal balance between trade and production and unanimity for all major decisions. Inventive and responsible, Inter Rhône is committed to working alongside its members. Objective: to raise awareness of the region’s wines in France and in more than 15 markets in Europe, Asia and North America.

A targeted communication strategy

To promote its wines, the interprofessional organization develops a communication strategy specific to each market based on consumption habits and distribution networks… Its mission is to discover and promote all the riches of the AOCs of the Rhône Valley in France and abroad. It creates and finances - on behalf of the different appellations - promotional actions or advertising campaigns, aimed at the general public and professionals in distribution, catering and wine merchants.

Promotional actions to discover AOCs

Inter Rhône organizes events in retail stores, guided tastings and training courses. It also promotes meetings with professionals and the general public by organizing or participating in numerous international trade fairs and events. Finally, in France, it is heavily involved in creating a rich and high-quality wine tourism offering, through wine routes, a “Cellar Welcome Charter” and the establishment of training courses for its winegrowers.

Research work dedicated to quality

Finally, it offers real technical support to the AOC vineyard: equipped with a high-performance laboratory, its teams of experts conduct technical, scientific and oenological research work, with a single objective: to guarantee the quality, safety and authenticity of AOC wines. To this end, the Inter Rhône Technical Service writes studies and publications that you can find in the Members' Area.
