Muscardin
Muscardin is an auxiliary grape variety that is used in the production of several southern Rhône wines. It gives them a note of freshness as well as a floral aroma. It makes it possible to make wine very rich in aromas, moderately alcoholic, lightly colored with a note of tasty freshness.

Location within the Rhône Valley: Southern Côtes du Rhône
Plantings within the Rhône Valley AOCs: A few hectares only (6 ha in 2023)
In the vineyards
Ampelography: Large, heart-shaped leaves
Bunch and berries: Cylindrical and compact clusters, of medium size. Ovoid, bluish-black berries.
Maturity: Intermediary
Characteristics: Moderately productive grape variety, very susceptible to wood diseases
In the cellars
Characteristics: In principle, this grape variety is not vinified alone. It is combined with others like Syrah, Mourvèdre and Grenache Noir. In the blend, it brings aromatic finesse, with notes of flowers and red fruits (strawberry), as well as a refreshing acidity.
