Marsanne

An emblematic grape variety for white wines from the northern Rhône Valley, where it is often blended with Roussanne, Marsanne produces powerful wines with floral and hazelnut aromas which develop particularly with ageing. It is also present in wine blends from the south of the Rhône Valley. In Saint-Péray, Marsanne is vinified as a still wine as well as a sparkling wine.

Grenache blanc

An emblematic grape variety of the southern Rhône Valley, Grenache blanc is the most widely planted white grape variety in the region. It is also known as Garnacha blanca in Spain, and is a mutation of the Grenache family (along with Grenache noir and Grenache gris). It is at the heart of the blend of many southern AOCs.

Clairette blanche

Clairette is one of the oldest grape varieties in the south of France. It is typically Mediterranean. Sometimes vinified alone, as in AOC Clairette de Bellegarde, it can also be blended with other grape varieties, bringing freshness, lightness, and bitter notes providing complexity and balance on the palate. It is the main grape variety of appellations such as Gigondas or Crémant de Die.

There is no white grape variety more famous in the world than Chardonnay. However, few know that it is present in the Rhône Valley. It is cultivated in the Châtillon-en-Diois appellation, producing supple white wines.

Carignan blanc

Traditionally exclusive to the Tavel appellation, white Carignan is a "VIFA", une "Variété d'Intérêt à Fin d'Adaptation", authorized on an experimental basis in the blends of the AOC Côtes du Rhône and Côtes du Rhône Villages. Its interest lies in its liveliness, its fruity and floral profile, but also its natural resistance to drought. It is a mutation of Carignan, traditionally black.
